House number plaque - Product design and development
3Minds were approached by an aluminium die-caster to design and develop a circular house number plaque to be painted up as a football, badged and sold in club shops.
The plaque which can take numbers from 1 -999 was designed, modelled and prototyped as an SL model (stereolithographic). 3Minds proposed to the customer that a more 3-Dimensional effect could be achieved to give the plaque additional 'football like' form.
The use of solid modelling allowed the part to be developed quickly so that it could be trialled in aluminium using a sandcast technique directly from the SL model. The part is painted and then finished with a Hexagonal transfer of the desired club badge. JJ Castings are currently completing licensing arrangements with FA clubs.
Military display unit - Conceptual industrial design for project bid
3Minds produced conceptual designs for start-up company, EGS Technologies based in Rugeley. The 3D Modelling work was carried out as part of EGS Technologies bid for a Military application project. The products are to be based around 12" and 15" displays with machined aluminium fronts.
