Product differentiation
Product graphics design is an integral part of an overall product concept. Sometimes however it can be the only differentiator other than functionality and cost. Commercial badges, labels. nameplates, overlays or full membrane switch panels the possibilities are almost endless.
'Badges' provide a good low cost opportunity to enhance your brand and the image of individual products, particularly if you are designing systems using standard off the shelf enclosures. Of course it is important to make the right choice both in terms of the type and style of 'badge' for visual impact and tactility but also the material and adhesive specifications to ensure durability in service.
Extended functionality
Reverse printed Polyester or Polycarbonate overlays or membrane keypads are a little more expensive but can be developed at relatively low cost both in unit price and tooling terms.
For higher value products keypad functionality can be produced with IP67 sealing, LED's, backlighting, key relegending, chrome metallic inks, touchscreens and conventional contact or capacitive switching.
